Butterfly Milkweed is deer resistent and drought tolerant once established, prefers sandy soils

Growing in clumps at 1-2’ high you want to plant it in drifts of 3-5 plants for pollinators & visual impact in the garden. Butterfly Milkweed makes a wonderful filler in the native garden. We like to plant Butterfly Milkweed in between her native cousins. Her orange umbel flowers and alternating narrow dark green leaves make a lovely contrast to Wild Bergamot, Anise Hyssop, and Purple Coneflowers.
