Ninebark is a high value native shrub from its fragrant flowers in April thru June to beautiful foliage on arching branches that turn brilliant yellow to reds in Autumn.

But it's REAL value is in the pollinators & other wildlife Ninebark supports. Its a host plant for over 30 butterflies and moths plus many specialist native bees and wasps. All vital food sources for Spring nesting birds who also enjoy the seeds of Ninebark later in the season.

PLANT DEETS:

  • Deciduous shrub growing mound-shaped up to 3' to 10'

  • Full sun to part shade

  • Adapts to various soil conditions including poor soils. Happiest in average dry to medium wet soils that are well-draining.

  • Winter interest as bark peels away in beautiful layers of red to brown.

NOTE: Our 2024 Ninebark(Physocarpus opulifolius) plants are 5x8” treepots, They are local ecotype and organically grown for us by White Oak Nursery in Canandaigua,NY. An additional $5 has been added to the original pricing to cover transport costs.
