4 years ago, White Meadowsweet (Spiraea alba) was one of the first shrubs I identified growing wild in our fields.

Beautiful and fragrant white to pink plumes in July sure weren't hard to miss.

Did you know Spiraea alba is a keystone species? It supports 97 caterpillars and moths! A definite pollinator magnet and bird feeder in the habitat garden. 

PLANT DEETS: 

  • Full to Part Sun

  • Medium to Wet Soils

  • Mounding shrub growing 3 to 6' tall and wide

  • Excellent bird feeder your habitat garden!

NOTE: Do not prune dried flower heads~ the seeds feed songbirds during the cold days of Winter!
