Spiraea tomentosa is a deciduous mounding shrub that hosts over 80 species of Lepidoptera making it a vital food sources of birds especially during nesting season.

In the wild, you'ld find Steeplebush growing in sunny & moist soil locations such as damp meadow and pond edges. Steeplebush thrives in damp sandy soils but is adaptable. to other soils. too. Like us, she likes to sit in the sun with her toes in the cool water!

When in mass such as a meadow, Steeplebush's branches also are preferred nesting sites for many birds such as Goldfinches and Red-Winged Blackbirds

Blooms Summer into Autumn with light pink flowers that produce mostly pollen for native bees, butterflies and moths. Leaving flowers to become dried seed heads will feed overwintering birds in your garden!
