Buttonbush (Cephalanthus occidentalis) looks like it has leaped out of the pages of a Dr. Seuss book! Small round 1” balls with little stems~ flowers that attract and support an endless list of pollinators including Tiger Swallowtails. Over 24 species of birds are attracted to this very special native plant.
A branching shrub, Buttonbush prefers moist soils in full to partial shade. Grows 5-8’ depending on location.
