from $5.00
Only 4 available

Little Bluestem is one of our favorite ‘fillers’ in the garden and native planters.

Ornamental bunchgrass with a beautiful blue hue in Spring that changes to a stunning bronze in the Autumn.

Little Bluestem’s bronze color continues to delight throughout the  Winter when it provides vital seeds to small birds and contrasts in the snow covered garden.

PLANT PROFILE

Appreciates most soil types except wet locations.

Loves full sun to partial shade

Grows up to 7’ tall but shorter in partial shade.

Blooms June thru October

Enjoys providing vital shelter, nesting materials and seeds to small mammals.

Hosts a bevy of skipper butterflies including the Dixie Skipper.

In fact, everyone seems to love Little Bluestem except the deer! Their loss is your gain!
