With her fragrant lavender colored plumes, Wild Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa) is easy to spot in the garden.

Even if you didn’t see it- the sound & movement of hummingbirds, finches, bees and butterflies surely give her location away!

  • Thrives in Full Sunshine but will enjoy partial shade. 

  • Dry to moist soils, wants sites with good drainage. 

  • Tall up to 4’ and wants elbow room & good air flow

(*note: powdery mildew does not harm Monarda plants but signifies its time to cut your stems to 12” for new growth to emerge!)

She proudly grows up to 3’ tall. Planted in drifts of 3 or more Clustered Mountain Mint is a lovely filler in the garden. 

Did you know wild-growing Clustered or Short-toothed Mountain Mint is listed as rare in New York State with less than 30 sites and fewer than 5,000 individual plants state-wide.
